Surly KRAMPUS Mountain Bike Chromoly 29" Shimano Deore

The Surly Krampus was the very first mountain bike to embrace the 29" x 3" "plus" tire format, redefining how many riders experience the trail. It proved that high-volume, large-diameter tires don’t just offer better comfort and traction—they can do it without sacrificing speed. The Krampus has played a key role in shattering the myth that big tires make you slow.

Its geometry is built for modern trail riding, with a long top tube and short chainstays, delivering a perfect blend of stability, responsiveness, and fun. While a mullet might be "business in the front, party in the back," the Krampus is all party, all the time—designed to tackle steep descents, tight switchbacks, loose terrain, and technical features with confidence and style.

Beyond its trail performance, the Krampus is also extremely versatile for custom builds. It's compatible with a wide range of mountain bike components, making it an ideal platform for riders who like to build with what they have—though it’s strictly disc brake only.

The frame and rigid fork are built with modern trail standards in mind, including dropper post compatibility, thru-axles, Gnot-Boost rear spacing, and a 44 mm head tube. The fork is also suspension-corrected, allowing riders to choose between rigid or suspension setups without compromising geometry.
